Mississippi Update

Hello all,

Boy I miss this place! I read a few posts and caught up on what some of you have been up to and thought I should do a quick update also.

I have four horses now but have had three of them up for sale for months with only one tiny bite. I heard in my company that budget cuts will be here in September and I'm deathly afraid that I may lose my job. With the oil slick out there coming in more and more daily if they shut down the shipyard then I will most certainly be without a job and they are extrememly scarce here.

I honestly hope I don't get to the point of calling the humane society to come and get them but I will do that in a heartbeat rather than keep them on my property if I can't feed them.

What has the world come to?

Anyway, didn't mean to be so maudlin...you never know, things might just come out ok!

Glad to be able to peek in and say hello and glad that you are all still here. I will try to check in a little more often though!

Hi BB- I am a relatively new member here, but I know what you are saying about the economy. I live in Louisiana. People are really in "panic mode" here. We were already in a deep recession, hadn't recovered from Katrina fuly yet, and now the BP oil spill!

I know the Mississippi Gulf Coast is in the same boat- no pun intended. And this has also been one of the hottest and most miserably humid summers that I can remember. One good thing though is that all this rain has kept the grass growning.
